NIHIL OBLAST is a mission for FIST: ULTRA EDITION inspired by the grandaddy of tactical espionage action, specifically its Cold War entry, and its creator's obsession with the artificial.

After a critical mission failure in the Tajik SSR, which resulted in the detonation of a stolen M-908 Davy Crockett nuke, the CIA fears an even worse defeat. To guarantee their top field agent's next operation will be a success, they have contracted with FIST to mount a detailed simulation under agency-controlled conditions, complete with fake scientists, soldiers and equipment. 

Acting as the Field Agent Experiment (FAX) Unit, FIST has one goal: 
Execute the simulation "Operation Fake Beater" as planned, reporting any observations or OPINT weaknesses that may impact the CIA's actual mission.
